History

Mountain Creek was named after the creek of the same name that drains the southern slopes of Buderim down to Mooloolah River above the Cod Hole and the Traffic Bridge on the Nicklin Way.  This suburb forms part of the Buderim urban centre.

Sunshine Coast University Hospital (public hospital) is the newest hospital on the Sunshine Coast.  SCUH is a tertiary, teaching hospital servicing the entire sunshine coast.  It is Australia's largest greenfield hospital and opened in 2017.  It has 738 beds and also offers emergency services.

Sunshine Coast University Private hospital features 6 state of the art operating theatres, a cardiac catheter laboratory, day surgery and an 8 bed intensive care unit.
