The name ‘Buderim’ is from the local Kabi Kabi Aboriginal word for the hairpin honeysuckle which originally grew abundantly around the plateau. In 1925, this suburb was an elevated health resort with four boarding houses for weary city-folk looking to be revived by the fresh ‘mountain’ air. Until the mid 1960’s, Buderim was just a small rural community. Now it boasts some of the Coast’s beautiful homes utilising the vast ocean and hinterland views.
